The photographers affiliated with AFI, more than 200 men and women from 10 Mayan ethnic groups, participate in both LOK´TAMAYACH and AFI activities. AFI staff members, who are members of LOK´TAMAYACH, are six in number – four women and two men, who together with the AFI coordinator and volunteers, speak Ttzeltal, Tzotzil, English, and Spanish, the one language in common. A number of professionals and students from many places in the world have participated in AFI activities. In addition, it is common to have anthropologists, artists, historians, photographers, reporters and tourists visit AFI to consult the collection, buy a book, postcard or photo, find out about recent activities or spend time chatting with the staff.
